NEB Junction brings together leading EU institutions to co-develop an open platform enabling stakeholders to share knowledge and shape sustainable, inclusive and aesthetically meaningful spaces.
NTNU – Norwegian University of Science and Technology
NTNU is Norway's largest university and a leading European institution in technology, science and innovation, with a strong focus on sustainability and interdisciplinary collaboration. As Project Coordinator, it brings extensive Horizon Europe and NEB experience through its Smart Sustainable Cities initiative, combining urban planning, policy, architecture, mobility, digitalisation and social science. NTNU leads people-centred urban innovation via living labs and partnerships, with senior researchers managing major projects such as CrAFt, NEB-STAR, Re-Value, Bauhaus Bites, ClimaGen, NEB Junction and CO-WATERS, integrating research, practice and policy.
AIT – Austrian Institute of Technology
The Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT) is Austria's leading applied research institute, and its Cooperative Digital Technologies unit focuses on developing smart, secure digital systems for public safety, critical infrastructure, and environmental resilience. Through advanced technologies like sensor networks, AI, and real-time data platforms, the unit supports informed decision-making and coordination among stakeholders, making it a key contributor to building robust, knowledge-driven ecosystems.
Ars Electronica
Ars Electronica is a cultural institution, educational facility and R&D lab based in Linz, Austria, known for its pioneering work at the intersection of art, technology and society. It comprises the Ars Electronica Festival, Prix Ars Electronica, Ars Electronica Center and Futurelab. Together, these divisions form a creative ecosystem spanning international artistic experimentation, year-round public engagement and advanced research and development connected to global networks.
Climate KIC
Climate KIC is Europe's leading climate innovation agency and community, driving systems change to build climate-resilient cities, regions and businesses. It works with global partners to bridge the gap between climate commitments and action through learning and innovation. Founded in 2010 as an EIT Knowledge and Innovation Community, it is now an independent foundation collaborating with EU institutions, governments, cities, academia and the private sector to accelerate climate solutions worldwide.
Dowel Innovation
Dowel is a French cooperative company specialising in innovation management, supporting sustainable innovation for the ecological transition. With strong experience in collaborative research on the built environment, it connects academic, industrial and social science expertise across Europe. Acting as a bridge between sectors and ecosystems, Dowel fosters cross-disciplinary collaboration to advance more sustainable development in Europe.
ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability
ICLEI is a global network of over 2,500 local and regional governments across 125+ countries, driving sustainable urban development through practical solutions for low-emission, nature-based, equitable, resilient and circular cities. It supports policy advocacy and knowledge exchange across governance levels. With expertise in five sustainability pathways, ICLEI applies its approach to projects worldwide, including those linked to the New European Bauhaus initiative.
ERRIN – European Regions Research and Innovation Network
ERRIN is a Brussels-based network of over 120 regional organisations across 20+ European countries. Since 2001, it has strengthened regional research and innovation ecosystems by fostering collaboration, promoting regional strengths and supporting innovation-driven growth. Working closely with EU institutions, ERRIN ensures a place-based perspective in EU policies. Through thematic groups and a dedicated NEB Task Force, it enables member exchange to advance sustainable, inclusive innovation rooted in local contexts.
The Democratic Society (DEMSOC)
Democratic Society is a European NGO working to secure democracy by, with and for all. Founded in 2006, it promotes meaningful citizen participation in decision-making and builds resilient democratic systems through long-term institutional change. It supports governments, communities and organisations in designing and embedding participatory processes across borders. In NEB Junction, it contributes expertise in participatory governance, systems design and networked stakeholder engagement.
